finger board

Occasionally a gem pops up on the internet and you know when because immediately after you’ve seen it, you want to tell someone about it. This is one of those times. If this fingerboarding is for real, then i am amazed – only in Japan!

king for a Day – Opening June 25

Backwoods Gallery debuts with my third Melbourne solo exhibition, King for a day.

King for a Day is a brand new collection of paintings, screenprints and installations that examine society’s celebrity obsession through the prism of our own mortality and inner duality. An energetic depiction of those who crave power, wealth and fame in both life and death, King for a Day looks at how contemporary media and social networking has accelerated stardom and increased the pitfalls that come with celebrity attention.

Please join us for the opening reception of ‘King for a Day’ on Friday 25th June 2010, from 6-9pm.

After several months of planning and hard work the new Backwoods Gallery space in Collingwood is now up and running. The space will be curated by myself, Alex Mitchell (Floating World arts), Ghostpatrol & Rone with the management of Izzy Callagorie and PR expertise of Edwina Hanneysee (Diamond Dozen).

The Gallery will launch on the 25th June with my third Melbourne solo exhibition

busy, busy

So I haven’t updated my blog for a while. The last few months have flown by in a blur of being chained to my desk working on the Everfresh: Blackbook (Soon to come!), drinking, painting, Sydney and now preparing for my next solo show – opening June 25th – at Backwoods Gallery (More info about Backwoods to come very shortly!). Anyway heres a small selection of pics to sum things up (sort of), some old (we’ve gone through a shit-load of images for the book), some new. And I’m obliged to say that all the good photos are by Josh Robenstone of course.
